Following are the steps to have your own domain name point to your web site:
- Register a domain name - We recommend a company called ItsYourDomain, but you may use any domain name registrar. To search for a domain name with ItsYourDomain, please enter a name in the search box below and press the Go button.
- Enter our DNS addresses - You must provide the Decisive Web Sites domain name server (DNS) addresses to the domain name registrar to point the name to your site. This can usually be done from their online management system. Our primary DNS server/host address is NS1.MAXIMUMASP.COM and the secondary DNS server/host address is NS2.MAXIMUMASP.COM. If you registered your domain name with ItsYourDomain, please click here for instructions on how to update your DNS addresses.
- Add the domain name to your Site Settings - After signing into your web site, choose Settings from the Site menu, enter the domain name in the Domain/Site Names field, and click on the Add Name link. Use the format “mydomain.com”, “mydomain.biz”, etc.
- Send us an email message - Once you have completed these steps, please send us an email message with the domain name(s) that you have registered so that we can complete the final step on our end. Please note that you must activate your web site before we can configure a domain name to point to it. To activate your site, sign into your account and click on the Activate Site button (square with a star) next to your Site Name, then enter your credit card information and choose the hosting plan you prefer.
